Presentation Skills for Technical Topics: A Hands-On Workshop

Program Overview

Preparing, designing and delivering effective presentations is a challenge, even more so if the content is of a technical nature. Learn techniques and strategies that will help you communicate better and achieve the results you need. In this workshop, you will deliver one short talk and one longer presentation on a work-related topic of your choosing. 

Keep in mind that this workshop is designed for participants to explore and learn new techniques in a safe, non-threatening environment.

This 1-day Workshop is scheduled for September 23, 2020.


Learning Objectives

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Outline the purpose and formulate messaging for presentations
  • Analyze audiences to appropriately level or ‘translate’ technical topics
  • Select and organize data and information
  • Structure presentation content
  • Select and effectively utilize presentation media
  • Employ active preparation techniques to refine delivery
  • Manage nerves and project energy
  • Use voice and body language to convey confidence
  • Manage Q&A and challenging audience members

Sharlene Mitchell is a Learning and Development Consultant with more than 25 years experience in Adult Education and Training in four countries: England, Singapore, Japan and Canada.  She has had the opportunity to work with thousands of individuals and organizations in the private, not-for-profit, and government sectors in a wide variety of industries including transportation, construction, logistics, and finance.



Participants must attend the 30-Minute pre-course preparatory webinar.
